Lab Beneficiation Equipment In Mineral Separation Experiments

The laboratory beneficiation equipment includes lab gravity separation, flotation, crushing, grinding, magnetic separation equipment, etc. It is widely used in small laboratories such as scientific research institutions, construction sites, metallurgy, mining, etc. The experimental gravity separation equipment includes small shaking tables, spiral chutes, small jig separators, gold centrifuges, etc.

1. Jig machine

Small jig separators belong to coarse selection equipment, handling particles slightly bigger than spiral chutes. It is suitable for selecting tungsten, tin, manganese ore, and other materials.

In mineral ore beneficiation, jig separators are one of the gravity separation equipment for processing coarse particles of 20-0.5mm. The most widely used laboratory jig machines are the 150×100 and 300×200 diaphragm jig separators. There are also ladder jig separators with a scale of 2 for production prototypes. All smaller devices are suitable for laboratory small-scale experiments and beneficiation experiments. Larger equipment is suitable for laboratory or intermediate testing. 

2. Shaking table

A small shaking table is a concentrating equipment for extracting heavy minerals with simple operation. It is an independent gravity separation equipment.

The specifications of experimental shaking tables include three categories:

① small experimental shaking tables with a length x width of about 1×0.5 meters.

② A semi-industrial shaker with a length x width of approximately 2×1 meters.

③ An industrial shaking table measuring 4.5×1.8 meters in length and width.

The most commonly used type of mineral processing equipment is the second category. If it is not specialized equipment for testing, we can use any headboard. The bed surface form is similar to industrial equipment, with coarse particles using a bed surface with multiple strips and fine particles using a grooved bed surface.

3. Spiral chute

The laboratory spiral beneficiation machine is small-size industrial equipment with a diameter of about 0.6m.

  • The spiral chute combines the characteristics of a spiral beneficiation machine, spiral chute, shaking table, and gold centrifugal concentrator. It is the best equipment for mining and beneficiation, especially for sand mining in coastal areas, riverbanks, sand beaches, and streams.
  • This equipment is suitable for separating iron ore, ilmenite, chromite, pyrite, zircon, hematite, monazite, phosphorite, tungsten ore, tin ore, tantalum ore, niobium ore, as well as other non-ferrous, rare, and non-metallic minerals with specific gravity differences. This equipment has a stable performance and easy-to-control separation process, a wide range of allowable changes in ore concentration, a high enrichment ratio, and a high recovery rate.
  • The advantages include a small footprint, low water consumption, simple structure, no need for power, large processing capacity, easy installation, convenient operation, small investment, and quick results.

4. Gold centrifugal machine and belt chute

Gold centrifugal beneficiation machine is effective equipment for coarse selection of mineral slurry, with a separation particle size of 38-19um. The commonly used equipment size for laboratory beneficiation is Φ 400x300mm. Belt chutes are usually paired with centrifugal beneficiation machines for selection. The size of industrial equipment is width x length=1×3 meters, while experimental equipment only reduces the width and generally does not change the length.

5. Crossflow belt groove

The most effective particle size selection for cross-flow belt chutes is 40-20um. The homework recycling rate can reach over 70%. The enrichment ratio is above 20. There are usually two sizes of experimental chutes: 700×1200 and 1200x2750mm.

Lab Flotation Equipment

Experimental flotation equipment includes XFD single-cell flotation machine, FX continuous flotation machine, XFG hanging cell flotation machine, etc.

The function of a lab flotation machine is to chemically separate different minerals by adding different reagents based on their chemical properties. Precautions for XFD Single Cell Flotation Machine
  1. The casing of the flotation machine must connect to the ground.
  2. If there is insufficient water in the flotation tank, stop the power supply.
  3. When moving the flotation machine, please place the force point on the body and base, and do not place the force point on the flotation tank, scraper motor, and handle.
  4. Before leaving the factory, all parts of the 4XFD single-cell flotation machine are sealed with screws. Due to possible looseness during transportation, please check again before starting up.
  5. The flotation tank should be loaded and unloaded gently to avoid breaking the organic glass tank.
The characteristics of a single-cell flotation machine

(1) Large suction capacity, low power consumption, and self-contained flotation circuit, with no need for auxiliary equipment.

(2) Horizontal configuration of the device facilitates process changes. Reasonable circulation of slurry can minimize the sedimentation of coarse sand to a certain extent. It is equipped with an automatic control device for the slurry, which is easy to adjust.

(3) The device has a frequency modulation function, which can adjust the frequency according to actual needs and has strong pertinence.

(4) The flotation cell is made of organic glass material with acid and alkali resistance. It allows for observation of the flotation process.
